Character Specific Rules

1. I don’t care what your opinion of Sam is. Don’t come to me saying “I hated Sam! She’s a weak final girl / she sucked / I’m glad she’s not part of the franchise anymore! / etc.” It’s disrespectful and I’m not going to tolerate it. No one’s making you write with her. If you don’t like her, you don’t have to write with her. End of story.

- My Sam runs off of headcanons and my own theories. I don’t go out of my way to read the bios and headcanons of other Sams, so any similarities are purely coincidence and just means that we’re both awesome.

2. Sam is extremely mentally ill and just because she’s on medications that actually work and in therapy doesn’t mean that she’s automatically cured. I will not be shying away from the fact that she does suffer from hallucinations ( that particularly flare up when she’s extremely stressed ), paranoia, bouts of severe depression, and temper flare ups. She also has PTSD, both from the abuse and neglect that she suffered from her mother and from her experiences with the various Ghostfaces.

3. If you feel like I’ve mishandled something or am playing too into a stereotype or misconception, please don’t hesitate to let me know privately! I’m always open to educating myself and addressing mistakes.

4. I will also not shy away from the fact that Sam experienced abuse at the hands of her mother, Christina. While it may not have necessarily been physical abuse, I do headcanon that she experienced a lot of emotional and verbal abuse and neglect. This will be implied and discussed when speaking about Christina.

5. When it comes to other original Loomis, Prescott, and Loomis-Prescott children, please contact me for plotting and discussion before approaching Sam in character! I’d like to be on the same page so that no one mistakenly assumes anything.

Biography

A full bio will come once I’ve played and developed Sam more. In the meantime, have fun with these lovely bullet points!

* - Sam was an accident, born due to a drunken affair that her mother had with Billy Loomis. Christina had hoped against hope that it was Jason Carpenter’s daughter, but knew the sickening truth the second she saw her daughter’s eyes. Those big dark brown eyes were Billy Loomis’s eyes, the same eyes that would always haunt Christina.

* - Christina and Sam never bonded and Christina only gave Sam the bare minimum of attention and care. Sam was often left in the care of her dad or her grandparents, something she thought was fairly normal.

* - That perspective changed when Tara was born and she saw how loving and gentle Christina was towards her younger sister. Still, Sam never thought to be angry towards Tara for her mother’s treatment. She simply thought that something was wrong with her. Even at five years old, Sam was starting to realize that she was different from the other children.

* - At thirteen, Sam was messing around in the attic in search of Christmas presents when she found her mother’s diary. Ever the bright and curious child, she began to read through them. She was horrified to read about her mother’s affair with Billy Loomis, who at the time had only been a boogeyman in the minds of Woodsboro children due to his actions years prior. It sickened her when she realized that she was the result of that affair.

* - She confronted Christina and she admitted everything and the two of them got into a screaming match. It came to an abrupt end when Jason interrupted them to confront Christina himself. He stormed out of the house that night, sickened and angry over learning the truth about Sam’s parentage. That was the last time that Sam ever saw the only man that she ever knew as her dad.

* - Christina never let Sam forget that this whole situation was her fault, especially once she truly began spiraling into the bottle. She would shriek and scream at Sam, telling her that everything that has ever gone wrong in their life was because of her. She was broken, she was disgusting, she was repulsive. She was just like her father, her real father. Christina’s always known it, which was why she’s never been able to truly love her.

* - Sam began to internalize everything that Christina told her and it only solidified what she believed as a child. Unable to escape her house permanently, she began to turn to drugs. She mainly focused on pills and weed, occasionally mixing them with booze. Anything to numb the voices in her head and to silence the bloodied specter of her father taunting her.

* - Sometime after her nineteenth birthday, Sam couldn’t handle it anymore. She’d tried to stay for Tara, but between the way she was being treated at home and the way that the townies were starting to look at her, she simply couldn’t handle it anymore. The more recent Woosboro Murders hadn’t helped matters and she simply took off without telling anyone. She just packed her car and left, needing to escape Woodsboro and its bloody legacy.

* - She spent the next five years getting clean and learning how to cope with the truth that tore her family apart.

* - Being away from Woodsboro was good for her and she began to grow. She learned how to deal with her pain, although the hallucinations that she had of Billy grew worse. The medication helped for a while, but after a few years, it began to not be as effective.

* - About six months before Tara’s attack, she met a guy named Richie Kirsch. He was very kind and he made her laugh, a rarity. He was also incredibly patient with her and didn’t judge her for her “quirks.”

* - Six months later, Tara’s attack happens and then the events of Scream 5 follow. I’m not going to outline them here because we all know how it goes.

* - Shortly after the events of Scream 5, Christina finally returns home and isn’t happy that Sam is there. A huge confrontation happens at the hospital that involves Christina trying to attack Sam and causes her to be physically held back. She screams that everything is Sam’s fault, it’s all Sam’s fault. That her “real baby” was nearly killed because of Sam.

* - Sam wound up staying with the Meeks-Martin family briefly until she was able to clean out her apartment in Modesto and get a small place in Woodsboro where she stayed until the Core Four graduated from high school.

* - There was a final confrontation between Sam and Christina at the graduation party. Tara intervened and told Christina in no uncertain terms that if she wasn’t going to get along with Sam, then she wasn’t going to put up with Christina. As a result, Christina cut Tara off as well.

* - When Tara moved to New York, Sam quickly followed as well because she had no reason to stay in Woodsboro. Tara and Sam moved into an apartment together with Sam getting two shitty jobs to support them, although they eventually had to take on a roommate ( Quinn Bailey ) to help afford their apartment.

* - Around this time, Gale Weathers published her new book and a brand new brand of hell began for Sam. It revealed the truth about Sam’s parentage to the entire world and framed her as a psychopath, causing entire online communities to spring up and accuse her of framing Richie and Amber and making her out to be the true mastermind of the 2022 Requel Murders.

* - Sam was dealing with a lot during this time: the fall out from Gale’s book, the fact that Tara was pulling away from her, the PTSD from Richie and Amber’s actions, grappling with the question of “am I like my father?”, and the guilt that she felt over Christina cutting Tara off.

* - She desperately tried to go to therapy, but was often ‘fired’ as a client once the therapist found out that she was Billy Loomis’s daughter and that she had ‘enjoyed’ stabbing Richie Kirsch in order to defend her friends and family. Instead of trying to find ways to help her, they did what so many others did and abandoned her.

* - Soon, the events of Scream 6 happened.

* - Shortly after the events of Scream 6, the Carpenter sisters were doxxed and had to move apartments due to the high amount of harassment. Despite the proof that had come out, the damage that Ethan and Quinn had done in forming these online communities had already been done. It only got worse with their deaths. Only this time, Tara was now pulled into it and Sam was accused of ‘corrupting’ her sister.

* - This time, Kirby used some resources she had through the FBI to help the sisters secure housing and helped Sam take some online college courses while she worked. Sam and Tara are closer than ever and, with Kirby’s help, have secured therapists that are willing to help them through their issues both together and separately. More to come.
