Louisa Bates: Louisa was a very cunning and top knotch thief who never wanted a child in any way, shape, or form. She always fretted that having a kid would ruin her figure and simply make it harder for her to do what she wanted to do. However, when her birth control failed and she found out too late for an abortion, she had no choice but to have Jacqueline. She tried to make the best out of what she viewed as a bad situation, but she never managed to make it as a mother. She was always very cold towards her daughter, seeing her only as a tool up to a certain age and then dismissing her presence when she lost her "cuteness." She also showed no interest in Jack's talents or interests, not caring to see how truly talented her daughter is. When Jack was seventeen, she and Louisa had a huge blow up fight that caused Jack to cut contact with her for years. Louisa has tried to reach out shortly after Kai was born, but Jack instantly put a stop to that. She knew that Louisa only wanted to Kai as a tool, much like she'd used Jack all those years ago. Victor Bates: Victor was a former spy turned international criminal after he was burned by the same agency that Jack now works for ( she doesn't know this fact ). He met Louisa shortly after he was burned and fell in love, sweeping the thief off of her feet. Like her, he never wanted a child and wasn't exactly happy with her conception. Still, he tried to be a half decent father. He did teach Jack a couple of different languages and taught her how to fight and how to use weapons, but that was really the extent of their relationship. Much like Louisa, he saw her more as a tool than an actual child. Still, he remembered her birthday and treated her a bit more like a human than his wife did. When Jack and Louisa had their big fight, he tried to intervene and only made things worse. In the end, though, he sided with his wife and called Jack overdramatic and expected her to come crawling back. He was shocked that she never did. He's also tried to reach out a few times over the years, but was given the cold shoulder by Jack and a firm refusal to be allowed in Kai's life. ( fc: kim coates )

Malachai Bates: Much like her mother, Jack never wanted a kid. However, everything changed after Boyd was arrested and Jack began spiraling. Due to her rocky mental health and burying herslef into her work, she didn't pay enough attention to her changing body until she started having severe pregnancy symptoms. By the time they showed up, it was too late to have an abortion and Jack had to carry to term. She was originally going to give the baby up, but the second she laid eyes on her son, Jack knew that she wouldn't be able to do that. Kai is the light of Jack's life and the number one thing that keeps her motivated to keep coming home. She loves her son more than anything in this world. He's such a cute little boy and he's inherited both of his parents' cunning and intelligence, something that Jack fears is going to cause him trouble in the future. Still, she strives to give him as normal of a life as she can despite her job. He's never met Boyd and only knows that his dad was locked away because he did a bad thing, but that Jack will allow them to meet when Kai is older. He's such a happy little boy, to the point that Jack calls him her little sunshine boy or her little ray of sunshine. He loves to read, draw, play video games, and has even started coding despite his young age. Jack is just constantly amazed at how quickly he can choose an interest and start mastering it. When Jack isn't home, his primary guardian is Michelle Shaw, who he calls Aunt Shell. ( fc: faceless bc he's a minor )

Boyd Covington: When Boyd and Jack met, he presented himself as a successful business owner and actually owned the cafe that Jack loved to visit whenever she wasn't training or out on a mission. He was so incredibly charming and he swept her off of her feet effortlessly, making her feel normal for the first time in her life. Of course, he'd originally targeted her because he knew she was a newer agent and wanted to use her as an in. However, he was shocked to find himself actually falling in love with her. Not only was she beautiful, but she was incredibly smart and had a sharp tongue and the backbone to back it up. They had so many similar interests and he was shocked at how well traveled she was, even before joining her current job. The more he earned her trust and got to know her, the more she opened up. He realized that they'd had very similar upbringings, although she was doing the opposite of him and trying to do "good" whereas he was following in his parents' footsteps. What started off as trickery deepened into actual deep love for her and he realized that he couldn't go through with his original plan. So he formulated a new one: get her to admit that she was an agent and then slowly turn her away from the Agency. The Agency wasn't clean, after all. He knew that and so did so many others. If he could just get her to see that, then he could pull her away. However, it all came crashing down before he could put his plan into action. She found out his secret before he could reveal it himself and he was so blinded by his love for her that she tricked him. He had never felt so deeply hurt and betrayed as he did when she led his arrest. But he also couldn't help but respect her, even as he spat that he hoped her career was worth it as he was led away. Michelle Shaw: Michelle and Jack originally met when Jack first joined the Agency. She was Jack's original handler and the two of them became fast friends and confidants. She was the first person that Jack told about Boyd when they began dating and Michelle was happy for her. Shell was also the first person that Jack told about Boyd when the nasty truth began to unwravel and was the one who helped Jack craft the plan to bring him in. Things were looking good until she filled in for Jack on a mission due to Jack's pregnancy symptoms kicking up shortly before Jack learned that she was pregnant. This was the mission that nearly took Michelle's life and basically ended her career. She was captured and severely tortured, ending up with injuries so bad that it took multiple surgeries and several months to recover from. By the time she was recovered, she knew that she couldn't go out into the field again both because of her body and because of the impact on her mental health. So she decided to help Jack out by becoming a secondary guardian for Kai and his protector when Jack was on missions. To the outside world, she's simply a nanny and an old family friend of Jack's who's stepped in to help. But if anyone finds Jack's true identity and tries to mess with Kai, they're going to find themselves unexpectedly going head to head with a decorated former agent. ( fc: sienna miller )
