1. Toni is an ASSASSIN: Toni is, first and foremost, an Antivan Crow and Crows are assassins. Up until Veilguard, the Crows were known to be very brutal and unforgiving when it came to their training and their treatment of their members. While she has it easier now, Toni grew up essentially being tortured and abused in order to become a killing machine. She will act accordingly. While she can be superficially charming in the right circumstances, there are times where she will be "prickly" or otherwise unpleasant. Please note that this is a side effect of a lifetime of trauma, not a personal vendetta against your muse.2. Canon Connections - There are some canon connections that Toni has, such as their connections to Viago ( and Teia, by design ), that are unavoidable. She's a member of his house and is one of his responsibilities. Plus, she's one of his master assassins, so I'm sure that she reports to him directly and has quite a lot of interactions with him and Teia. Any other canon connections that are mentioned ( the Illario fling, for instance ) can be brushed over / ignored since it's very brief if you write said character and it makes you uncomfortable to have that connection. I'm not here to force connections on anyone.
3. Romantic Shipping - As much as I love a good ship, romantic shipping with Toni will not be easy. Due to her occupation and the intense trauma that brought her where she is, they find it hard to get close to people on a personal level. There's always the "this person can be used against me." or "this person can kill me if I become too vulnerable." aspects. It'll take a lot of work and patience to get around that. If you're interested in shipping romantically with Toni, keep this in mind.
4. Not a Rook - Toni was not designed with the intent of being Rook. In the future, I MIGHT give them a Rook verse, but they are primarily just an Antivan Crow original character. Please don't see the last name de Riva and assume that they're automatically a Rook.

This is a rough bio. I'm still in the process of developing Toni's character, so her bio is likely to change and grow as she becomes more developed. This is just to get the groundwork started and to help foster discussions!- Antonia de Riva was born Louisa Antonia Mercado and was the only child of one of the lower Antivan Merchant Princes. Things were pretty happy for her for the first four years of her life until her father got involved in a business deal that went sour and he wound up angering some higher level Princes. Those Princes decided that he and his wife were going to be a problem, so a contract was taken out on their lives with the Antivan Crows.
- Toni's parents were dispatched by the Crow cleanly and quickly, although Toni was left completely unharmed as she was not part of the contract. Instead, she was taken in by a local orphanage and a Crow was assigned to keep an eye on her from a distance to see her potential.
- At six years old, after she successfully pickpocketed a Crow and nearly got away, she was "taken in" by them. They saw the potential in this tiny, underweight little gremlin of a child and decided to give her a chance.
- Adjusting to the Crows was a struggle, but Toni survived by sheer force of will and absolute spite. Despite having next to no one in her corner, she refused to give in and let those who told her that she'd never survive win. She always managed to find a way to pull through and win her fights, even if it was in ways that no one expected.
- The training was brutal and Toni would often be left worse for wear, but they refused to give up. Even when they got sick after killing their friend at the orders of Caterina during one of her rare visits, she still refused to give up. She was going to be a Crow or literally die trying.
- Toni was 13 years old when she got her first contract: a nobleman visiting from Orlais. She was accompanioned by Viago, who watched from a short distance with a stormy scowl on his face. It was intimidating, but Toni managed to pull it off. Things went unexpectedly sideways when the nobleman turned out to have extensive fight training, but she managed to pull it off by herself. She emerged, soaked in blood but triumphant, and was made a full Crow.
- She was one of the first picks for Viago's house, partially because of how she'd impressed him that night and partially because of her delicate taste buds.
- When she was twenty six, she was in Tevinter when one of her jobs crossed paths with Illario Dellamorte's. They wound up working together because their targets were constantly together. Things ended up getting heated and they had a brief fling while on the job that carried on for about three months when they went back home. It wasn't anything serious on Toni's end and was mostly just physical. She was the one who broke it off because it was almost starting to feel routine and she hated that. Plus, the thought of being so closely associated with the First Talon's grandson didn't sit right with her. There were too many dangers associated with that and it made her extremely paranoid.
- When she's not on a job, she often hangs out at the Diamond, partially so that she can pester Viago. She thinks it's funny.
