TRIGGER WARNINGS:
mentions of parental abuse ( father ), mentions of parental death ( mother ), mentions of parental abandonment ( father ), abuse / bullying, fantasy racism ( hatred against tieflings ), self loathing, intense feelings of unlovable, occasional feelings of gender based dysmorphia. please be aware that the feelings of being unlovable / feeling like an abomination are at the very core of astra's character and cannot be brushed over / avoided and typically lurk at the back of their mind.Character Specific Rules:
1. First and foremost, Astra is non-binary. Enby. Gender fuck all. Whatever term you want to use, that's what they are. They bounce between using they / them and she / her pronouns with a heavy preference of they / them, although they don't mind being referred to as she / her if the situation is particularly sticky and it's a little safer to keep that under wraps. However, keep in mind that they / them is their overall preferred pronouns. I will point out I notice you only using she / her in reference to Astra.2. I'm going to state straight out that Astra struggles with intense fear of abandonment and assumes that everyone in the group will leave them as soon as they are free of their curse. They are terrified of getting close to everyone just to be left alone. Again. It wouldn't be the first time that this has happened. This fear stems from a combination of abuse from her father, past bullying from others, and other past bad experiences. They will not state this openly and is really good at keeping up a mask and deflecting the issue by focusing on the problems of others and trying to help. It takes a lot to break down those walls, but be aware that when they do come down, there will be a lot of emotions because Astra isn't used to opening up.
3. I just started the game. Astra will be under constant development as my progress through the game unfolds. Please be patient with me and the bare bones information as things unfold and I discover the secrets of what's going on and the secrets of my own character. I'd love if you joined me. We could have a lot of fun together.
4. I currently have two set verses for Astra: the main one where she's the main character and an alternative one where she's a companion. They'll both be developed simultaniously as I move through the game and they're both open to plotting. Main verse will be default unless you're also writing a Tav, then we can plot what we want to do.
5. On the subject of romances: Astra does not have a set romance. They have a tendency to develop crushes extremely easily on those around them and tend to find something attractive in pretty much everyone that they spend a little bit of time with. However, it's rare for them to act on any attraction that they feel and even rarer for them to actually take any flirting seriously that's sent their way. They're so used to any flirting being joking / banter that anything that's done seriously will fly right over their head. They've also have a history of reading too much into things, so they tend to take any "moments" with someone with a grain of salt and think that they are reading too into things once again. If your character wishes to pursue something romantic with Astra, make sure that your character tells them upfront about those feelings because otherwise Astra won't pick up on it. Also, tell me because I probably won't pick up on it so easily either. But I do love shipping!

Quick Decisions Overview
Astarion Feeding - Astra allowed Astarion to feed off of them that first night to the point where they had the Bloodless condition the next day because they were convinced of the fact that all of the group needed to be in top fighting shape. They then made arrangements with him the next day to occasionally invite him for a midnight feeding to help keep him strong, particularly if he was unable to feed during battle or if they were in a place where he is unable to hunt.Absolute Brand - As a way to try and earn Priestess Gut's trust, Astra submitted to getting the Absolute's brand on their hand. It earned Gut's trust enough to get her alone to make killing her a lot easier. They are not above using the brand to get into places that the group needs to go a lot easier, even if they're not fond of doing it.
The Goblin Leaders - Astra killed all of the goblin leaders in order to save the grove. However, I didn't know it was possible to save Minthara and be able to have Halsin at the same time. So please, Minthara writers, don't think I hate you! I don't. I promise, I didn't know.
The Mushroom People - Killed the Durges in the destroyed village because they wanted Astra and company to hunt down their escaped slave. Astra refused because slavery is bad and gross and wound up in a fight. When they met the mushroom people, Astra explained to the sovereign that they'd already killed the rot that had murdered their people and was awarded with the name of "peace-bringer" and agreed to go after the drow that started all of it. Their interactions with Glut ended in their refusal to go against the sovereign and Glut attacked them, winding up with them killing Glut. After bringing Nere's head back, they now have the names of Peace-Bringer, Kin-Spirit, and Life-Bringer.
Grymforge - Astra convinced the spiders to go to Lolth by using Speak with Animals, then talked Elder Brithvar into a mutiny against Nere. They freed Nere from the rocks, partially to free the gnome slaves that were trapped and partially so that they could have access to Nere's head to take back to the Mushroom people. After the fight with Nere and his group, they convinced the Duregar to free the gnome slaves and took Nere's head back to the Mushroom people. Officially friends with the Ironhands.

Biography
( please keep in mind that this is a rough bio and will be refined and reshaped as I move along in the story and my ideas change and reshape. also please note that Astra's bio has trigger warnings such as implied miscarriages from their parents, mentioned abuse from their father, and death of their mother. )Born to Damien and Brigitte Adair in the large and bustling city of Baldur's Gate, Astra's birth was supposed to be a time of celebration and delight. Damien and Brigitte had originally thought that having children were impossible for them as they'd been trying for years with nothing but failed attempts and tragedy. However, their delight was quickly turned sour when their little bundle was not a human child as expected, but one of blue-ish purple skin, horns, and a tail. Horrified and saddened, Brigitte broke down into tears and came clean with the truth: She had once been a warlock before meeting Damien and had gotten out of her infernal pact with her patron through trickery. Her patron had warned her that the consequences would come about in unexpected ways and Brigitte had assumed for years that her inability to carry a living child was the consequences her former patron had mentioned. She had never expected that she, a human, would bring a tiefling child into existence.
Damien's rage at the situation could not be understated. Brigitte, his beautiful and caring wife, had lied to him for years and this creature was the consequence. He was disgusted with her and the "child" that Brigitte had birthed. He refused to call Astra his daughter, despite Brigitte's begging. This tiny devil was no daughter of his, after all. She was the product of his wife's lies and her consequences of a fiendish pact. He was merely the instrument for bringing her into this world. In his mind, his daughter was only an instrument for evil. A freak of nature. Nothing good would come of her existence. The only thing that kept him from killing the defenseless child in the moment was Brigitte's interference and a promise from his wife that any attempts to kill her in the future would bring all of Baldur's Gate's guard upon his head.
As the years passed and the child grew, Brigitte never quite recovered from the birth. She remained in a weakened physical state, often growing easily ill in the winter. Astra learned at a young age how to make poultices and other such things to help nurse their mother through these illnesses, especially as their father slipped further and further into the bottle. Oftentimes, he would stumble into the house after a heavy day of drinking. His rage would practically shake the walls as he shout about devils and pacts and lies. He made sure that Astra knew what a freak they were from a very young age, telling them that there was no real place in a world that hated such devils. That outside of Baldur's Gate, no one would truly welcome or love them.
When they were fifteen years old, Brigitte fell ill with a fever that never broke. Despite all of Astra's knowledge and attempts, nothing helped. They begged Damien to do something but he only turned away and said "Let the lying bitch die." Those were the last words that he ever spoke to Astra and the last time that they ever saw him. They held their mother as she passed, listening to the sound of her breathing slowly faded. No one came to the funeral, no one offered to help Astra get anything together. It was in these moments that they knew that they were alone. It was then that Astra knew that their old life was gone. The only person that ever cared for them was dead and gone.
For the first time in their life, Astra was alone and terrified. They roamed the streets of Baldur's Gate, bullied by those around them for their unusual looks, even among the tieflings. They did odd jobs just for a little coin, anything that they could that wouldn't result in them compromising their morals too much. It was a struggle just to put food in their stomachs, let alone try and keep some semblance of a roof over their head, but they did their best.
Things changed during the major flooding on the outskirts of the city. Astra was seventeen when it happened and didn't even think. They dove headfirst into helping those that needed it, doing everything that they could to roughly mend what injuries they could or dive headfirst into flood waters to pull out those that were drowing. They showed tremendous bravery in the face of a terrifying storm and didn't even think to ask for help or payment. However, the event that people in the area talk about even years later was when one of the safeties broke and a fresh wave of water came in, sweeping away a child that had brutally made fun of Astra only days before for their appearance. Astra dove in after the boy without a second thought and, despite their exhaustion, used their quick thinking to pull the child to the safety of his parents' arms. It was a tremendous act that cemented their reputation in the mind of all of those who witnessed it.
Their acts caught the attention of a local druid who reached out to Astra that night. She offered to take them under her wing and teach them the ways of the druid, along with giving them a roof over their head and a warm place to sleep. Astra eagerly accepted the offer and dived headfirst into learning. Their love of nature and gentle spirit made them a natural for the druidic path and their fascination with the stars and moon made choosing the Circle of the Moon an easy path for them. It was then that Astra was truly born.
